How Vaayil records may be used and what requires a conversation first.

Documentation records
Unless an individual record states otherwise, everything published in the Vaayil archive (record text, metadata, condition assessments and the architectural drawings) is released under Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).
You may copy, redistribute, adapt and build on this material for any non-commercial purpose, including teaching, research, conservation work and publication in scholarly venues, provided you give attribution.
Attribution
Attribute the record, not the website. Every record page carries a formatted citation in plain text, BibTeX and RIS, generated from the record’s own fields. Use it and include the record version you consulted (see Citing a record).
Commercial use
Commercial reuse is not covered by the licence above and requires a separate agreement. This is not a restriction on research. It exists because a measured record of a protected monument should not be resold without the site, its custodians and the studio knowing that it has been.
If you want to use Vaayil material commercially, ask. The answer is often yes.
Source models
The photogrammetric meshes and point clouds behind the drawings are not published under this licence. They are large, they are the survey’s primary evidence and their release is arranged case by case with the institution or custodian concerned. Enquiries are welcome.
This website
The website’s code, design system and typography are not covered by the documentation licence and remain the property of Vaayil.
Trade marks
The Vaayil name and wordmark are not licensed for reuse.
